CAT BA ISLAND – LAN HA BAY

Coming to Cat Ba, visitors will be captivated by the beauty of the sea with white, smooth sand beaches, limestone mountains with amazing caves. Cat Ba has many beaches, characterized by privacy and peace. The two most ideal beaches are Cat Co and Cat Dua. 

DAY 1: HANOI – CAT BA                         ( – / L / D )

07h45: The bus and tour guide will pick you up at the Opera House or 09 Cho Gao to depart for Cat Ba in the direction of Hanoi – Hai Phong highway, then cross the Tan Vu – Lach Huyen bridge, the longest sea-crossing bridge in Vietnam, to get to Cat Hai island district of Hai Phong city.

Note: On weekends, departure times may be arranged earlier than usual. Please be present at the meeting point according to the tour guide’s information from the afternoon of the previous day.

11h30: Arriving at Cat Ba Island, you will have lunch, then check in to the hotel and rest.

In the afternoon: You are free to swim at beaches such as Cat Co 1, 2, 3.

18h30: Dinner. Free evening to explore Cat Ba town, go to the Night Market… Overnight in Cat Ba.

DAY 2: CAT BA – LAN HA BAY – VIET HAI – KAYAKING – HANOI    ( B / L / – )

05h00: If possible, you should wake up early to walk or freely call a tram (or motorbike taxi) to take you to visit the “Cannon Fortress” here. You can see the entire area of ​​the surrounding islands with the naked eye or through the lens of the telescope located here. After watching the sunrise on the sea, you can sit and sip a cup of morning coffee in the fresh space of a pearl island.

07h00: You have breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

07h45-08h00: The car will pick you up at the hotel and take you to Ben Beo Port..

08h30: Check in on the cruise and begin your journey to explore Lan Ha Bay – one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

09h10: Cruise through Cai Beo floating fishing village, one of the oldest fishing villages in the Gulf of Tonkin, take photos while the cruise passes by Hon Cu Rua, Hon Dua…

10h00: Visit Viet Hai Ancient Village, the only ancient village on Cat Ba Island that still retains its wild beauty associated with fishing and forest trekking. A great experience when visiting Viet Hai Ancient Village is cycling along the coast of the fishing port and Cat Ba National Park. Experience fish massage, foot bath and visit the local people’s house. 

11h00: The ship arrives at Hang Luon – Tay Keo area, where the group receives life jackets, paddles, and kayaks, and you begin rowing through the caves. Hang Luon – Tai Keo is quite large with many stalactites above, and there are always two streams flowing from inside to outside. Surrounded by high mountains. The scenery is like being lost in Heaven. The group can stop here to rest and enjoy the wild natural atmosphere.

12h30: Enjoy a seafood lunch on a cruise with special seafood dishes of Cat Ba island.

13h30: Swimming at Van Boi or Ba Trai Dao beaches (depending on actual water conditions). These are the largest and most beautiful natural beaches in the Bay, where visitors can bathe and experience taking photos, swimming in the ocean… will be memorable experiences on this trip

15h00: The ship arrives at Cai Beo dock and the car takes you back to the hotel. End of a day exploring Lan Ha Bay.

18h30: You can have dinner at your own expense at restaurants on the island. After dinner, you can visit Cat Ba at night by walking – renting a tandem bike or going to bars – nightclubs – karaoke…

DAY 3: CAT BA – NATIONAL PARK – HANOI        (B / L  / – )

Sáng: You have breakfast at the hotel. In the morning you can choose these following options:

• Option 1: Free to swim or relax, go to the market to buy seafood
• Option 2: Register to visit Cat Ba National Park with Trung Trang Cave, Military Hospital Cave and Ngu Lam Peak (additional charge of 290,000 VND/person). The total number of registered guests must be at least 10 people to be able to organize this expansion.

11h00: You arrive at the hotel to complete check-out procedures and have lunch.

12h30: The car will pick you up and return to Hanoi.

17h00-17h30: Arrive in Hanoi. End of Cat Ba tour. See you again!

Inclusions:

• Meals: Four main meals (lunch, dinner) and two breakfasts, with specific meal allowances.
• Entrance Fees: Tickets to all attractions mentioned in the itinerary.

• Electric car or bicycle ticket from outside to fish massage area
• Guide: A Vietnamese or English-speaking guide throughout the tour.
• Drinks: Water on the bus.

Exclusions:

• • Taxes: VAT invoices (if required, additional fees may apply).
  • Single room surcharge is applied in case the customer registers to travel alone and cannot share a room with another person or due to the customer’s request to sleep alone.
  • Drinks during meals, in hotels and other personal expenses
  • Cost of motorbike taxi, electric car to go to the beach if tourists are not willing to walk
  • Tram or bicycle ticket through the forest to the Ancient House area and sightseeing ticket in the Ancient Village area (in Viet Hai)
  • Other services not mentioned in the program or not included in the inclusions
  • Any additional costs or self-funded expenses mentioned in the program content

• TIPS: minimum $3/day x 3 day = $9/passenger/trip

Children policy (need to read carefully to understand the children’s standards):

• Infants (1-4 years old): Free, but parents are responsible for all expenses.
• Children from 2 to under 4 years old will be charged an additional fee of 350,000 VND for the cost of a boat trip to visit Lan Ha Bay.
• Children from 5-9 years old are charged 75% of the tour price (separate meals, separate seats on the bus but must share a bed with parents). 02 children charged also do not have a separate bed standard.
• Children 10 years and older: Pay the full adult price.

Notes on purchasing Seafood:

• In case of purchasing seafood, it must be contained in a sealed and clean styrofoam box.
• Do not bring any seafood into the cabin.
• The driver has the right to refuse to transport if you bring seafood onto the vehicle without careful packaging.
• The driver has the right to refuse to transport seafood if you buy too much seafood and there is no room in the trunk.

(*) Things recomended to bring:

• Sun hats, sunscreen, swimwear
• Insect repellent, anti-diarrheal medicine, common cold medicine
• Cameras, camcorders, and camera phones to capture beautiful moments

Important Notes:

• Documents: Guests must bring valid identification (ID card or passport) and, for children under 14, a birth certificate.
• Health: It’s recommended to bring medications for common ailments like stomach upset and fever.
• Vegetarian: Vegetarian guests should bring their own food if necessary.
• Itinerary Changes: The tour guide may adjust the itinerary to accommodate weather conditions or other factors.
• Small Groups: For groups of 10 or fewer, the driver may also serve as the guide.
• Luggage: Due to the mountainous terrain, it’s advisable to pack light.
• Homestays: Guests should bring personal items for their stay at the homestay.
• Drop-off: The tour ends at the Hanoi Opera House.
• Health and Liability: Guests are responsible for their own health and any pre-existing medical conditions. The tour operator is not liable for any losses or injuries.
